Long Beach Processing

Payment processing for trades and field services

Get paid at the job site instead of mailing an invoice and waiting. Mobile terminals, deposits, and progress billing.

The most expensive thing about a field business is usually not the processing rate, it is the gap between finishing the work and collecting. Taking payment on site, before you leave, removes that gap entirely.

That requires hardware that works over cellular in a crawlspace or a back yard, and the ability to take a deposit up front and the balance on completion. It also means keyed transactions, which price differently from swiped ones and need to be accounted for in your pricing.

Where trades and field services usually lose money

  • Collecting after you leave the site

Every day between completion and payment is a day you are financing the customer. On-site payment is the fix, and it is mostly a hardware question.

  • Keyed transactions costing more

Reading a card number over the phone costs more than tapping a card. If much of your volume is keyed, your pricing has to reflect that honestly.

  • Deposits and progress billing

Multi-stage jobs need a deposit, progress payments, and a final balance, each authorized correctly so nothing declines at the worst moment.

  • Connectivity at the job site

A terminal on store wifi is useless in a crawlspace. Cellular-capable hardware with offline capture avoids the dead-zone problem.

  • Dispatch and invoicing software

If you already run field service software, payments should flow through it rather than being re-entered by hand.
